News24 host James Macpherson shocked by the water crisis in Claremont, Queensland, where aged care residents and hospital patients have been denied showers and locals have been warned against drinking the water. “Aged care facilities in the West Queensland town of Claremont have suspended showers for the elderly because of water shortages,” Mr Macpherson said. “The local hospital has stopped showering patients too, and the town's 3,000 residents have been told to only flush the toilet, and I quote, when necessary. “Ageing infrastructure means that drinking water in the town is largely undrinkable. Locals have been told they shouldn't even let their animals drink the water.”
