Primary 1 registration: More Phase 2C places from 2027, new two-track scheme at 12 schools

More Primary 1 places will be available to those children without prior connections to a school. From next year's registration process, most schools will reserve 60 spots for Phase 2C, up from the current 40. At 12 schools, Phase 2C places will be split equally between children living nearby and those further away. The changes aim to widen access and encourage a greater mix of students from different backgrounds. Chloe Teo reports.
