PAP government does not believe in using higher pay to entice candidates into politics: PM Wong

Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has warned that the quality of political leadership may deteriorate if Singapore's government is unable to attract enough good people. By then, rebuilding the system may become impossible. He was speaking near the end of the Parliament debate, answering MPs' questions about bringing in talent, transparency in how he assesses ministers and the role of mayors. Mr Wong spoke about his own political journey and rejected suggestions that higher pay is being used to entice people into politics. Sabrina Ng reports.
