Climate crisis: UN warns wildfires, heatwaves threaten to undermine air quality

The UN climate agency has warned that decades of progress towards cleaner air could be going up in smoke, as worsening wildfires and heatwaves drive up pollution. The World Meteorological Organization says climate change is fuelling more frequent and intense extreme weather, producing microscopic pollutants that can travel vast distances.
