The eight-year renewal of the Bukit Panjang Light Rail Transit is in its final stretch, with 98% of the 16.6 kilometres of power rails across the 27-year-old network replaced. Works are on track to be completed by the end of the year. The first major renewal of Singapore's oldest LRT line aims to ensure the network is more resilient and make journeys more reliable for commuters. A renewed fleet of 32 trains is now in service. Separately, lift upgrading works across all stations will be completed by February next year. Charlotte Lim reports.
