Some community clubs in Singapore are seeing a flurry of activity, as residents turn up to collect free masks and seek respite at the air-conditioned haze shelters. At Radin Mas CC, volunteers distributed five times more masks to residents than the day before. Staff said the increase is expected, with fresh supplies available to meet demand over the coming days. Meanwhile, in Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng, about 10 grassroots leaders are going door-to-door to give out masks and invite people to the haze shelters. For now, CCs will close at 6pm as usual. However, when the 24-hour PSI breaches the 300 mark and enters the hazardous level, CCs islandwide will remain open until 10pm. Chloe Teo and Noah Kong report.
