The U.S. Justice Department announced it is seizing seven internet domains used by hackers associated with China's Integrity Technology Group to target critical infrastructure. This action follows a September 2024 disruption of a botnet linked to the same firm.

The disruption of hacking infrastructure linked to China's Integrity Technology Group aims to protect critical U.S. and international systems from cyber threats, potentially reducing the risk of espionage and operational disruption.
U.S. officials announced on Thursday that they are seizing seven internet domains in an effort to disrupt hackers working with the Chinese IT firm Integrity Technology Group. The Justice Department stated that these domains were being used to help Chinese hackers scan and compromise U.S. and foreign critical infrastructure systems.
This action marks the second public effort by the U.S. to dismantle Integrity Tech's hacking infrastructure. In September 2024, the department announced the court-authorized disruption of a botnet comprising more than 250,000 compromised consumer devices across the United States and globally. At that time, then-FBI Director Christopher Wray identified Integrity Tech as being behind a major Chinese hacking group known as "Flax Typhoon," which was conducting intelligence collection and reconnaissance for Beijing's security agencies.
The Chinese Embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Beijing routinely denies allegations of conducting state-sponsored hacking operations.
