Phase, a new blockchain network designed to allow smartphone users to earn tokens by participating in AI services, has announced the launch of its mainnet. The platform received a $45 million funding commitment from Kirill Eves, founder of the global payments company Unlimit. The funding will cover the first two years of development and provide an additional two years of operational runway. Phase's mainnet launch on Thursday was accompanied by Phase Proxy, a service that enables AI agents to utilize internet connections shared by smartphones for their web requests. This addresses a growing barrier to AI adoption where websites often block or limit automated traffic from data centers.
