Ukraine's military conducted a drone strike on an oil processing and pumping facility in Russia's Volgograd region on June 13, 2026, according to the Ukrainian General Staff. The strike, which reportedly caused a fire, targeted a key facility near Kotovo responsible for processing and transporting oil for Russian refineries and export infrastructure.
The facility, identified as the Yefimovka Oil Pumping Station (NPS), functions as a critical node in Russia's energy grid. It processes crude oil from fields in the Volgograd, Astrakhan, and Kalmykia regions, removing impurities before pumping the stabilized oil into major trunk pipelines, including the Kuibyshev-Tikhoretsk transit route. This route supplies both domestic refineries and Russia's maritime export infrastructure.
Local Volgograd officials initially attempted to minimize the incident, describing it as a localized fire due to falling drone debris. However, independent monitoring channels confirmed direct hits on the Yefimovka facility.
The strike on the oil infrastructure was part of a broader operation by Ukrainian forces. Simultaneously, Ukrainian tactical units targeted Russian military command posts in Soledar and Verkhnia Krynytsia, as well as drone command outposts and troop concentrations in various locations across occupied territories and Russia's Bryansk and Belgorod regions.
