The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on September 11, 2026, that Russia has lost approximately 1,503,880 troops since the full-scale invasion began on February 24, 2022. This figure includes 1,490 casualties suffered by Russian forces over the preceding day.
In addition to troop losses, the report detailed significant equipment attrition for Russia, including 12,441 tanks, 25,312 armored combat vehicles, 147,211 vehicles and fuel tanks, 49,516 artillery systems, 2,109 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,622 air defense systems, 441 aircraft, 356 helicopters, 2,573 unmanned ground systems, 510,130 aerial drones, and 5,103 cruise missiles. The report also stated Russia lost 35 ships and boats, and two submarines.
