Key facts
- The October count includes logistics and casualty evacuation missions, the Defense Ministry said.
- Ground drones also carry out strike missions, reconnaissance, mining, demining and drone launches, the ministry said.
Ukraine's military completed a record 31,398 unmanned ground vehicle missions in October, the Defense Ministry said on November 6, citing the military's e-points system. The count, which includes logistics and evacuation runs, was more than four times the 7,511 missions logged in January 2026.

Ukraine's brigades logged 31,398 ground drone missions in October, more than four times January's 7,511, as the ministry says Russian drone density has pushed front-line logistics, rotations and casualty evacuation onto unmanned vehicles.
Ukraine's military completed a record 31,398 missions with unmanned ground vehicles in October, the Defense Ministry said on November 6, citing data from the military's e-points system. The figure covers logistics and evacuation runs among other tasks and is more than four times the 7,511 missions recorded in January 2026.
The ministry said ground drones have moved over the past year from experimental technology to a battlefield necessity for Ukraine's brigades. It attributed the shift to the density of Russian first-person view drones in the air, which it said has kept traditional vehicles from carrying out logistics runs, troop rotations and casualty evacuations near the front line.
Over 2025 and 2026 Ukraine invested in ground drones, with unmanned ground vehicle companies and battalions appearing in almost every brigade, according to the ministry. Most missions are simple logistics runs, but the vehicles are also used for strike missions, casualty evacuation, reconnaissance, mining, demining and launching drones.
Each successful mission is logged on Ukraine's Delta situational awareness software, and the unit earns e-points that can be spent on equipment on the Brave1 Marketplace. "UGVs are the technology that makes it possible to minimize the risk to humans on the front," the Defense Ministry said.
