Ukraine reportedly struck the Titan-Barrikady military plant in Volgograd with Flamingo cruise missiles, damaging production facilities. The strike, part of Ukraine's escalating aerial attacks on Russian industries, occurred as a Russian drone killed a man in Ukraine's Sumy region.
The strike on the Volgograd industrial facility represents an escalation in Ukraine's long-range attacks on Russian military infrastructure, aiming to disrupt its war-making capabilities and inflict economic consequences. The incident also highlights the ongoing deadly conflict, with a Russian drone attack causing civilian casualties in Ukraine.
Ukraine reportedly struck the Titan-Barrikady military plant in Russia's Volgograd region with Ukrainian-made FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles, damaging production facilities. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated the strike targeted a "major industrial complex" where Russia produces artillery systems and components for missile launch systems, including those for the Iskander-M missile system. Volgograd regional governor Andrei Bocharov confirmed an attack on a business in the Krasnooktyabrsky district, reporting 10 people wounded and damaged production facilities.
This strike is part of Ukraine's stepped-up long-range aerial attacks on Russian military industries and energy facilities, aimed at cutting Moscow's war revenue and making Russians feel the consequences of the invasion. The Titan-Barrikady plant is known for developing and manufacturing launchers for strategic missile systems like Yars, Topol-M, and Sarmat, as well as Iskander-M tactical ballistic missiles.
Meanwhile, a Russian drone strike killed a 66-year-old man in Ukraine’s Sumy region overnight. This follows a large-scale Ukrainian drone assault targeting a dozen Russian regions, Crimea, and surrounding seas, which Moscow's Defense Ministry said involved the interception of 660 drones.
