Taiwanese solid-state battery maker ProLogium is diversifying its market focus beyond electric vehicles due to sluggish EV demand and high costs. The company anticipates that half of its future sales will originate from non-automotive sectors, including artificial intelligence and aerospace applications.

ProLogium's strategic pivot highlights a broader industry challenge for solid-state battery manufacturers, where high production costs and slower-than-anticipated EV adoption are prompting diversification into sectors with potentially higher demand and margins for advanced battery technology.
Taiwanese solid-state battery maker ProLogium is increasingly looking beyond the electric vehicle market, citing sluggish EV demand growth and high costs. The company's CEO indicated that non-automotive applications, such as those in artificial intelligence and aerospace, are expected to account for half of its future sales.
ProLogium Technology announced on September 2, 2026, that its Gen 3.5 Lithium Ceramic Battery (LCB) has entered mass production at its Giga-level manufacturing facility in Taiwan. This development moves high-energy-density all-solid-state battery technology beyond laboratory and pilot-scale stages. A third-party TÜV test report confirmed that the 185.4 Ah large-format cell reached a gravimetric energy density of 381 Wh/kg and a volumetric energy density of 903 Wh/L. These metrics suggest reduced weight and volume for a given energy storage capacity, supporting high-power and fast-charging capabilities.
UL Solutions also tested the cell according to China's GB/T 43568-2026 methodology, finding a weight loss of less than 0.05% after six hours under vacuum at 120°C, which is well below the 0.5% threshold for all-solid-state classification. This standard has been submitted to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) for international standardization.
The Gen 3.5 LCB is built on ProLogium's Logithium™ cell architecture, which has been the foundation of its LCB platform since 2012. The company has progressively advanced its manufacturing capabilities, moving from a Sheet-by-Sheet line in 2013 to a Roll-to-Roll line in 2017, and its third-generation Giga-level platform in 2024. ProLogium has shipped over 2.4 million cells on the LCB platform since commercial production began in 2013, serving consumer, specialty, and automotive applications. The company also obtained IATF 16949 automotive quality-management certification in 2022.
