Japanese trading house Sojitz Corporation and logistics company NRS CORPORATION have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Tata Electronics to develop a supply chain for semiconductor materials. This collaboration is intended to support Tata Electronics' upcoming 12-inch (300 mm) commercial semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera, Gujarat.
The partnership aligns with the Indian government's vision to foster a robust domestic semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. Sojitz and NRS will work on establishing a framework for the safe, reliable, and efficient management of critical semiconductor materials, including those that require specialized handling. Tata Electronics' CEO and MD, Dr. Randhir Thakur, stated that the partners bring global expertise in semiconductor chemicals, hazardous material handling, and advanced warehouse operations, which will enhance operational readiness and supply chain resilience.
