Samsung Electronics Co. solidified its leading position in the global dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) market during the second quarter of 2026, capturing 39.4% of the market revenue. This extended lead comes amid a significant surge in demand driven by the ongoing artificial intelligence boom.
According to a report by market research firm TrendForce, Samsung's DRAM revenue for the April-June period reached $60.98 billion, marking a substantial 63.4% increase from the preceding quarter. The company's market share also grew from 38.5% in the first quarter.
South Korea's SK hynix Inc. secured the second spot with a 24.9% market share, despite a slight decrease from 28.8% in the first quarter. SK hynix reported a 37.9% rise in revenue to $38.59 billion.
U.S.-based Micron Technology Inc. held the third position with a 23.3% share, an increase from 22.4% in the prior quarter. Micron's revenue grew by 65.5% to $36 billion during the same period.
The overall global DRAM market experienced robust growth, generating $154.73 billion in revenue in the second quarter, a 59.5% increase from the first quarter. This expansion was primarily attributed to increased shipments of various memory products.
