Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI), an Austrian banking group with operations across Central and Eastern Europe, is expanding its cryptocurrency offerings through a group-wide partnership with Bitpanda. Bitpanda Enterprise will supply the digital asset infrastructure that RBI's network banks can leverage to introduce crypto services, potentially reaching approximately 18 million customers, according to a joint announcement on Wednesday. The companies stated that individual banks will decide on their specific offerings and rollout schedules based on local market conditions and regulatory requirements. RBI CEO Michael Höllerer indicated that the bank is responding to growing customer demand for crypto assets in its markets. This collaboration follows a crypto integration previously launched with Austria’s Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien in 2024. Bitpanda, which is authorized under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), noted that the rollout is in its early stages and will proceed gradually.
