Newrez announced on November 3, 2026 that it had named Jay Jones as its chief servicing officer, effective immediately. Jones will oversee the company's $879 billion servicing portfolio and its third-party servicing franchise, and will lead the transition to the AI-native operating system ValonOS in early 2027, Newrez said.
Jones joins from Rocket Mortgage, where he was chief servicing officer and helped with the post-acquisition integration of Mr. Cooper's servicing portfolio. Before Rocket, he was executive vice president of servicing at Mr. Cooper and held leadership roles at CIT Bank, OneWest Bank and IndyMac Bank. Newrez said he brings more than 30 years of experience to the role.
"Newrez has built a servicing business that clients trust and homeowners count on, pairing deep human expertise with strong digital capabilities," Jones said in a statement. Newrez President Baron Silverstein said: "Servicing is a foundation of our business, and bringing in someone of Jay's caliber speaks to the importance we place on our platform and servicing team."
