New Investment Association boss urges politicians to back City

On September 23, 2026, the IA announced the election of three new directors to its Board of Directors following its Annual General Meeting. Emma Crystal, CEO of Private Banking & Wealth Management at NatWest, and Richard Oldfield, Group Chief Executive of Schroders, were elected as new members. Ouajnat Karim, Chief Executive Officer, UK, at BNP Paribas Asset Management, also saw their election to the board officially confirmed. These new directors replace Paul Geddes and Rachel Elwell, who have stepped down.

Ann Prendergast, Chair of the IA Board, expressed her enthusiasm for the new members, highlighting their diverse experience as valuable for supporting growth and investment in the UK. John Owen also welcomed the new directors, expressing his eagerness to collaborate with the board to champion an industry that assists millions in saving and investing while providing capital for businesses to expand.
