Sanjay Sah, a survivor of a devastating glacier collapse in Nepal, has returned to his village after being trapped in a hydropower tunnel for nine days and spending a week in the hospital. His homecoming on Sunday was marked by both joy and grief, as many in his community are still missing loved ones. Sah, a mechanical foreman at the Upper Trishuli 3A Hydropower Station, was one of only three people rescued from buried tunnels following the disaster. The glacier collapse unleashed a wall of mud and water, killing at least 1,386 people and leaving 5,130 missing, with around 900 of those being power station workers. Sah survived by drinking flood water and seepage from the mountain rock until rescuers reached him. He expressed his desire to stay in his village for some time but stated he would return to duty if called.
