The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced several student-friendly changes for the upcoming NEET-UG 2026 re-test, including a 15-minute extension of the exam duration and doubling the space for rough work. The exam will now be 195 minutes long, with the window extended to allow for administrative formalities. The rough work pages will now be placed at the beginning of the question booklet, and the layout has been restructured to better accommodate left-handed candidates.
Cabinet Secretary Dr. T.V. Somanathan reviewed the preparedness for the re-examination, emphasizing that stringent security measures are in place. He warned that anyone attempting to compromise the integrity of the test would face the full extent of the law.
