Nationwide Equities Corp. announced on November 4, 2026 the launch of ReverseReach, a tool and support program aimed at helping mortgage brokers and loan officers find reverse mortgage opportunities in their existing customer databases and referral networks.
The New Jersey-based wholesale reverse mortgage lender said the program is designed for originators who may not specialize in reverse products but have years of past customers who are now older, hold home equity and may be candidates for reverse mortgages. A scenario runner lets originators input basic borrower and property data to see whether a reverse mortgage may be viable, and the tool targets homeowners age 55 and older, including those with limited qualifying income or constrained access to traditional refinance options. Nationwide Equities described the program as a preliminary opportunity identification tool rather than a full underwriting engine.
Nationwide Equities is pairing the technology with a help desk staffed by full-time Direct Endorsement underwriters who answer eligibility questions, help structure loans and walk brokers through complex borrower situations. "One of the biggest obstacles to broader reverse mortgage adoption is simply recognizing when a borrower may be a good candidate," president Philip Parziale said in a statement. "ReverseReach bridges that gap."
CEO Paul Lamparillo said in a statement that brokers may be sitting on untapped business without realizing it, citing relationships built with homeowners over the years. "We created ReverseReach to make uncovering those highly lucrative opportunities simple, efficient and accessible," he said.
Modex data shows Nationwide Equities originated 111 reverse mortgages for $216 million in volume over the past 12 months, while data compiled by Reverse Market Insight shows it endorsed 26 Home Equity Conversion Mortgages through the first nine months of 2026. In 2020 the company launched its private-label reverse mortgage, EquityPower, built to offer higher loan proceeds than HECM products.
The company said the launch comes as volume in the forward mortgage market remains under pressure from higher rates, tighter affordability and competition for a smaller pool of qualified borrowers, and as some retail and broker shops look to diversify into reverse mortgages, home equity products or nonqualified mortgages.
