Hong Kong’s M+ museum, New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and Paris’s Centre Pompidou are set to sign a framework agreement on October 30 to establish a three-way cultural alliance. The initiative aims to redefine how visual culture is collected, exhibited, and shared globally, moving beyond conventional short-term touring exhibitions and fee-based satellite franchises. No money will change hands between the institutions under this new model.
Separately, Chanel has deepened its alliance with M+ by becoming a Lead Partner under a new three-year agreement. This partnership will encompass exhibitions, public programs, and digital archives. The collaboration kicks off with the Sarah Sze: Centrifuge installation in February 2027 and builds on Chanel's previous support for M+'s moving-image archive, which has funded the restoration of nine Hong Kong New Wave films.
