The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has announced a collaboration with NVIDIA aimed at significantly enhancing the speed and scale at which financial institutions can process and analyze large volumes of LSEG Tick History market data. This partnership leverages NVIDIA's cuDF software, which enables GPU-accelerated computing.
Benchmark analyses indicate that years of LSEG Tick History data can now be analyzed in mere seconds, a dramatic reduction from the previous processing time of hours. This advancement is particularly relevant as financial markets increasingly move towards near 24-hour trading, requiring more immediate and continuous historical analysis rather than relying on end-of-day data.
The collaboration allows for deeper historical analysis without the need to create additional full copies of the underlying dataset, thereby preserving existing licenses, permissions, and access controls. This integration brings LSEG's trusted, permissioned historical market data closer to the computing environments used for quantitative research, market analysis, and artificial intelligence applications.
LSEG Tick History encompasses 110 trillion rows of data, covering 100 million instruments from over 30 years and more than 580 exchanges and trading venues. In the first half of 2026, LSEG's real-time network traffic saw a 29% increase compared to the first half of 2025, reaching a peak of 26 million messages per second in June. Customer API requests for Tick History data also rose by 48% during the same period.
Ron Lefferts, Co-Head of Data & Analytics at LSEG, stated that the collaboration allows customers to derive insights from LSEG's data at speed, without the burden of copying datasets, while maintaining full control. Ioana Boier from NVIDIA highlighted how NVIDIA cuDF facilitates large-scale analysis of LSEG Tick History, preserving data detail crucial for advanced analytics and AI.
