The 286-ton vessel overturned around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, with eight crew members on board. Two individuals have been rescued so far, though one of them is reported to be unconscious. Six others remain missing, and the Coast Guard is actively searching for them.
Presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung stated that Lee instructed officials to "Mobilize all available resources to rescue lives." Prime Minister Han Seong-sook also directed the Coast Guard and the maritime ministry to lead all-out rescue efforts. Additionally, the interior ministry, the defense ministry, and the Busan city government have been instructed to provide any necessary support for the operation.
