Latino Democratic officials are urging Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, in his capacity as chair of the Democratic Governors Association (DGA), to shift the organization's focus and resources towards the Texas gubernatorial race. The group, comprising operatives and local and congressional leaders, believes this move is crucial to counter the Democratic Party's struggles in retaining Latino voters, a trend particularly evident in Texas. While the DGA is also considering swing states like Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada, the push for Texas highlights the perceived importance of that specific contest in the broader effort to appeal to and mobilize the Latino electorate.
