Kongsberg Gruppen secures $400 million Kuwait air defense order

Kongsberg Gruppen has secured a contract valued at approximately $400 million to supply its Norwegian Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS) to Kuwait. The deal, conducted in partnership with Raytheon through the U.S. Foreign Military Sales program, will enhance Kuwait's air defense capabilities.

The NASAMS system is a mobile defense solution designed to protect populations and infrastructure from aerial threats. Kjetil Reiten Myhra, president of defence systems at Kongsberg, highlighted that this order underscores the system's established role as a widely adopted medium-range defense solution.

Kongsberg Gruppen, which employs 7,800 individuals, reported a total turnover of 32.8 billion kroner in 2025. The contract follows a joint delivery model for the modular NASAMS technology established between Raytheon and Kongsberg.
