Jordan intercepts missiles and drones launched from Iran

Jordan's air defenses intercepted five missiles launched from Iran early Wednesday, according to the country's military. This occurred hours after U.S. Central Command reported downing an Iranian missile barrage targeting American forces in the Middle East. The Jordanian military stated that its air force units dealt with the threats efficiently, and the Public Security Directorate responded to six reports of falling debris and projectiles, resulting in some material damage but no injuries. U.S. and Saudi fighter aircraft also conducted strikes in eastern Iraq against logistics and weapons sites used by Iran-backed militias, in response to over 30 drone attacks in the preceding 72 hours. U.S. Central Command warned that further attacks on American troops or Saudi energy infrastructure risked additional military response.
