A dedicated fan has successfully created a native PC port of the highly influential horror game P.T., allowing players to experience the title on Windows systems. The modder, known as Lorean Xavier, has been working on the project since 2024, reverse-engineering the original PlayStation 4 executable to create a 1:1 version of the game using its original assets. This effort bypasses the need for emulation and aims to preserve the game, which was famously delisted from the PlayStation store in 2015 after the cancellation of the Silent Hills project.
Xavier explained that the port is not a remake but a translation of the original code, enabling modern graphical features and mod support. The developer stated that the game's core content, including its puzzles, progression, and ending, remains intact. Approximately 30 minutes of gameplay from the PC port has been made available online.
Adding significant weight to the project, Hideo Kojima, the original director of P.T. and the intended Silent Hills, has publicly acknowledged the fan-made port by retweeting an article about it. This gesture has been met with excitement from fans and the developer, who expressed his gratitude for Kojima's recognition of his passionate work.
