An anticancer drug developed by Sichuan Biokin Pharmaceutical was presented in a late-breaking oral session at the European Society for Medical Oncology Congress in Madrid, according to a report that did not date the event. Researchers said the drug, iza-bren, showed an advantage over platinum-based chemotherapy in a phase 3 randomized, double-blind trial at 73 hospitals in China involving 432 patients with advanced lung cancer.
The primary report did not give the trial's name, the size of the survival benefit or the drug's development partners. Attached reports dated October 26 and October 28, 2026, which were not used because they fall outside the freshness window, said the PANKU-Lung01 trial found median progression-free survival of 11.1 months with iza-bren against 5.7 months with chemotherapy.
