Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong confirmed that Prime Minister Modi will visit Australia in the near future, an announcement initially made by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Wong highlighted the warmth and strategic weight underpinning the relationship, noting that the Indian diaspora is a valued part of the Australian community. She described India as an "essential economic partner" for Australia, crucial for diversifying supply chains and growing the economy.

Both leaders anticipate the upcoming visit will inject fresh momentum into the comprehensive strategic partnership, fostering deeper collaboration in cutting-edge technology, trade, and regional defense frameworks. Morrison pointed to potential areas for enhanced cooperation, including trade, security, defense, artificial intelligence, industrialization, the Quad leaders' dialogue, infrastructure investments, and maritime domain surveillance.
