Anthropic launched Claude Haiku 5.5 on Wednesday, the third model in its Claude 5.5 family, as the artificial intelligence company expands its product lineup ahead of a planned initial public offering (IPO).
Haiku 5.5 is designed for tasks such as classification, summarization, and extraction, including live support, voice agents, and in-app assistants. The model is priced at $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens for prompts under 100,000 tokens, increasing to $0.50 and $2.50, respectively, for longer prompts. Anthropic stated that Haiku 5.5 costs 75% less than its predecessor, Haiku 4.5.
This new model is Anthropic's first Haiku to feature built-in safeguards for a narrow set of high-risk cybersecurity requests, with most everyday tasks unaffected. The company previously launched Claude Sonnet 5.5, the second model in the family, which is positioned as a faster, lower-cost complement to Claude Opus 5.5 for everyday enterprise tasks.
