AI training-data startup AfterQuery has reportedly secured new funding that values the company at $3.2 billion. This valuation marks a significant increase from its $30 million Series A round in April, which valued the company at $300 million. The rapid growth means AfterQuery has become Y Combinator's fastest-ever unicorn, according to Y Combinator partner Gustaf Alströmer.
AfterQuery's founders, who are 22 and 23 years old, attended Y Combinator's Winter 2025 cohort just 18 months ago. In April, the San Francisco-based startup announced an annualized revenue run rate of $100 million and stated it was working with numerous major AI labs.
Clients named by the company include Nvidia, Legora, and the Korean AI lab Motif Technologies. AfterQuery differentiates itself by training AI models and agents to emulate the decision-making and reasoning patterns of top professionals, rather than solely focusing on accurate question answering. The funding round was first reported by Forbes.
