Adobe announced that Anil Chakravarthy will take over as President and CEO, effective December 1, 2026, succeeding Shantanu Narayen. Narayen, who has led the company since 2007, will transition to the role of executive chair to ensure a smooth handover.
Chakravarthy, currently president of Adobe’s Customer Experience Orchestration business and worldwide field operations, joined Adobe in January 2020. He has been instrumental in developing market-leading products using AI and successfully championed acquisitions. Prior to Adobe, Chakravarthy served as CEO of Informatica for four years and held executive positions at Symantec and VeriSign, beginning his career at McKinsey & Company.
Narayen expressed confidence in Chakravarthy's leadership, highlighting his experience and knowledge of the business, particularly in navigating an AI-driven era. Frank Calderoni, Lead Independent Director, stated that the board unanimously selected Chakravarthy after a rigorous selection process, citing his transformative leadership and success in expanding Adobe's Customer Experience Orchestration business.
