A high-level six-member French delegation has arrived in Kolkata to explore potential business cooperation and understand the priorities of the new state government. The delegation includes prominent figures from the French Embassy in India and the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce.
The delegation is scheduled to meet with State Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta and has already met with the State Finance Secretary to discuss the establishment of an Indo-French Chamber of Commerce in Kolkata, aimed at serving eastern India.
During their visit, the delegation intends to identify areas for potential cooperation and will be looking into opportunities within sectors such as freight and industry corridors, ports, defense, agriculture, cold chain management, tourism, and logistics. A conclave is planned following these state-level interactions.
