US to provide Poland $4 billion loan for arms purchases

DiNanno made the announcement during the inaugural flight of Poland's F-35 fighter jets, which are being acquired from the U.S. Poland, situated on NATO's eastern flank, views the acquisition of these advanced aircraft as crucial amid perceived threats from Russia. The country ordered 32 F-35 jets in a $4.6 billion deal in 2020, with the first three having arrived in May and deliveries expected to conclude in 2029.

Polish officials emphasized that the F-35s, equipped with stealth technology and advanced sensors, will significantly bolster the nation's defense capabilities. The ceremony was attended by Polish President Karol Nawrocki and Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz.
