News24 US analyst Michael Ware discussed Iran’s negotiation tactics, describing the country as highly skilled at protracted negotiations. “They can’t be trusted; they are the master of negotiation. The Iranians like to play the long game," Mr Ware told News24. “Any gestures that they make, it's one step forward, and it's two steps back. “We need to get the Iranians in a position where they see it’s in their own self-interest to cut a real deal, and unfortunately they have not been forced to that precipice. “From their point of view, they are acting deeply rationally, fighting an existential battle where they either win or die trying.”
