US schools trialling AI weapon detectors in expanding security program

Secondary schools in Florida have started implementing artificial intelligence-based weapons detection systems. This is an expanding security program already in use in some high schools. The devices scan to find certain types of metals and shapes, then artificial intelligence decides whether it is something potentially dangerous and immediately alerts staff members.
