‘Running out of money’: France’s financial crisis adds fuel to mounting social unrest

Political Theorist and Substacker Ralph Schoellhammer argues that economic pressures are reinforcing France’s wider social and political problems. “Everybody wants to kind of put it like in one compartment,” Mr Schoellhammer told News24 host Samara Gill. “No, it's a combination, and these things are reinforcing each other. “If you are a country that is very, very rich. you can paper over these problems. “You can basically keep them calm. You can keep them quiet. “France is, as probably one of the first major European countries, quite literally running out of money.”
