‘Pathetic apology’: Student backtracks after disgusting mockery of Charlie Kirk’s murder

News24 host Rita Panahi questions a University of Texas student's apology after she wrote and performed a poem mocking the murder of Charlie Kirk, arguing it was a deliberate act rather than an off-the-cuff remark. “A college student … thought it would be awfully clever and funny to write a poem mocking the murder of Charlie Kirk and then read the poem to some of his friends,” Ms Panahi said. “Turns out there's a little bit of blowback for that University of Texas student, and only because of that, she released this pathetic apology. “I'm not buying the apology. It wasn't an off -the -cuff comment. It was a poem she wrote. She made a decision to read it out in front of people who knew Kirk and were close to him.”
