Mexico deploys 1,500 troops to guard and protect avocado hubs

Mexico has deployed troops to protect its avocado farms in the country’s west. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum says the military presence should help US export inspections resume. America had suspended government operations in the region because of the threat posed by organised crime. 90 per cent of Mexico’s avocado exports go to the US.
