US Senate passes bill to sanction Russia, honouring legacy of late senator Lindsey Graham

The US Senate has passed legislation, backed by late senator Lindsey Graham, to sanction Russia. The bill in Mr Graham’s name also imposes tariffs on other countries to reduce their dependence on Russian oil and gas. It aims to increase economic pressure on Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine. The late US senator was one of Ukraine’s most vocal allies in the US Congress. The bill is expected to be considered in the House of Representatives next month.
