Israel’s military will not file criminal charges against soldiers who reportedly killed Australian aid worker Zomi Frankcom. She and six colleagues were killed when Israel reportedly launched a drone strike against a World Central Kitchen food truck in Gaza in April 2024. Israel’s Defence Force says there were serious failures which led to soldiers falsely believing there was a Hamas fighter travelling in the convoy. Foreign Minister Penny Wong says the Australian government is calling for full accountability for the death of Ms Frankcom. Meanwhile, World Central Kitchen say it fundamentally disagrees with closing the case and challenged the military’s official narrative.
