It looks like Gianni Infantino will be challenged at next year's FIFA presidential election. Former Switzerland, Tottenham and Celtic defender Ramon Vega is the first candidate to emerge since Infantino's heavily criticised World Cup sell-off plans. Vega has mainly worked in finance since retiring as a player in 2004. When he previously tried to get on the ballot paper in 2019, he failed to get backing from enough national football federations.
