Gates under fire for ‘scaremongering’ over artificial intelligence

News24 host Rita Panahi commented on Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates’s approach, accusing him of shifting from climate “fearmongering” to raising alarm about artificial intelligence. “He’s stopped scaremongering about the climate, and he’s got a new topic to scaremonger about,” Ms Panahi said. “I have been fearful of AI backfiring in some devastating fashion, but when I hear the likes of him scaremongering about it, I feel suddenly confident about the future.”
