Former White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney has sharply criticised this election cycle’s polling and warned of serious challenges for Republicans, particularly in Texas. “The polling has been extraordinarily bad this entire election cycle; we’ve just had some primary races where the polling was off by 10 or 15 points, that is unheard of in this country,” Mr Mulvaney told News24. “The Republicans are in trouble, especially in Texas. “The Democrats have just about the best candidate they could imagine, and the Republicans have just about the worst candidate they could imagine. “It’s going to be much closer than the Republicans want it to be.”
