‘Completely ludicrous’: Macron’s 2017 claims there is no French culture resurface

Political Theorist and Substacker Ralph Schoellhammer condemns French President Emmanuel Macron’s 2017 remarks about France’s cultural identity. “It was, I think, in 2017, Emmanuel Macron, when he said something along the lines- I'm sure it sounds much better than the original French- that for him, there is no French culture,” Mr Schoellhammer told News24 host Samara Gill. “There are only different cultures in France, which I think is completely ludicrous. “If you marinate and socialise an entire population in having no attachment, no affection for their own country, for the institutions of the country, for the history of the country, they will either turn against it or they will have no respect towards it.”
