Another interest rate hike will ‘send some people over the edge’

News24 host Rita Panahi says another interest rate hike from the RBA will “send some people over the edge” and force them to consider “selling their property” in a flatlining housing market. “The inflation issue … has been from mad government spending, which still hasn’t really subsided,” Ms Panahi said. “We have the RBA say, ‘oh no, we haven’t actually modelled what would happen if government spending was reigned in'. We can’t just model everything’ as if that is not the most obvious thing to model. “This will send some people over the edge, where they’ll have to consider selling their property in a market that has crashed deliberately because of the Albanese government’s budget changes.”
