Young people took to the streets across Europe on Oct 30 and 31, protesting rising living costs and government spending priorities. In France, authorities said some 320,000 people rallied nationwide, including 70,000 in Paris. Clashes between protesters and police led to hundreds of arrests on Saturday. Meanwhile, in Germany, tens of thousands joined nationwide demonstrations organised by youth group Gen Z regelt or "Gen Z takes charge". Shops were looted in Frankfurt as some protests turned violent. In Italy, protesters pitched tents near Rome's Colosseum over housing costs and wars, following a nationwide general strike that disrupted more than 40 cities on Friday (Oct 30). #protests #france #germany #italy #europe Subscribe to our channel here: https://cna.asia/youtubesub Visit our website: https://cna.asia Download our app: https://cna.asia/app Get our editors' picks of stories via chat apps: Telegram: https://cna.asia/telegram WhatsApp: https://cna.asia/whatsapp Follow us on these platforms: https://www.facebook.com/channelnewsasia https://www.instagram.com/channelnewsasia https://www.tiktok.com/@channelnewsasia
