Singapore motorists may soon use their ERP 2 on-board unit (OBU) to pay for roadside parking instead of using the Parking.sg app. A roll-out date for the new roadside electronic parking (REP) feature has not been announced but around 1,000 motorists have started testing it from Monday (Aug 3). The Urban Redevelopment Authority said that in cases where multiple nearby parking locations are shown on the OBU touchscreen due to the close proximity of the car parks, motorists are advised to choose the topmost option. Motorists need not step out of their vehicle to check. CNA’s Justin Ong tries it out.
