Philippine VP Sara Duterte's brother declared a hostile witness in impeachment trial

The impeachment trial of Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte has passed its one-month mark. She is facing four articles of impeachment over allegations of public fund misuse, amassed unexplained wealth, bribery and assassination threats made against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr and his family. Ms Duterte has denied all charges. Impeachment will see her removed as vice president and permanently barred from public office. Her brother, Sebastian Duterte, who is also the mayor of Davao City, testified today in connection with allegations of a conflict of interest. They concern contracts awarded by the Davao government to a company in which Sara Duterte has openly acknowledged holding business interests.
